Delete your Sirat account
Last updated 15 August 2026. Version 1.1.
You can delete your Sirat account and everything stored with it at any time. You do not need to give a reason, you do not need to talk to anyone, and nobody will try to talk you out of it.
There are two ways to do it. The first is instant and we would suggest it. The second exists for the times you cannot get into the app.
Save anything you want to keep first. Deletion cannot be undone. There is no recycle bin and no support ticket that can bring your streak back. Before you start, open Settings, then Your data, then Export, and keep the file somewhere safe.
Delete it from inside the app
- Open Sirat.
- Go to Settings, then Account.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read what the screen tells you will go, then confirm.
Your account and its data are deleted straight away. You are signed out on every device you have used, and the app carries on working as a local, signed out install unless you remove it from your phone as well.
Delete it by email
If you cannot sign in, cannot reach the screen above, or your phone is gone, write to sirat.support@gmail.com from the email address on the account, with the subject line “Delete my account”.
We will reply within 72 hours to confirm we have it, and finish the deletion within 30 days. If we cannot be confident the request is really from you, we will ask you one or two questions first. That is a protection for you, not an obstacle, since anyone who could delete your account by writing us a convincing email could delete anyone else’s too.
What gets deleted
Everything tied to your account, including:
| What | Examples |
|---|---|
| Your account | Email address, sign in method, display name, the user id itself |
| Your practice | Every completion you have logged, your streak, shields and repairs, excused days |
| Your writing | Journal entries, reflections, notes, anything you typed into the app |
| Your reading | Qur’an bookmarks, reading positions, session history |
| Your goals | Habits you created, challenges you joined or finished, personal targets |
| Your settings | Calculation method, reminder times, chosen madhhab, theme, language |
| Your circles | Your membership, your name and shared activity inside every circle you are in |
| Your subscription record | The entitlement we hold against your account (see the note below about the store) |
What happens to your circles
If you are only a member of a circle, you disappear from it. Your name, your shared activity and your history in that circle all go with you. The other members are not told why.
If you created a circle and other people are still in it, ownership moves to the longest standing remaining member so the circle does not collapse when you leave. If you were the only member, the circle is deleted with you.
What we have to keep, and for how long
A small amount of information survives deletion because the law requires it or because keeping it is the only way to protect other people.
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Payment and tax records | Tax and accounting law where we are established | As long as that law requires, usually 6 to 7 years |
| Abuse and moderation records | So somebody removed for harming others cannot simply come back with a new account | Up to 24 months |
| Security and fraud logs | Investigating account takeover and abuse of the service | Up to 12 months |
| Backups | Backups are written as whole snapshots and cannot be edited in place | Overwritten on a rolling cycle, no more than 35 days |
None of that is used to build a profile of you or to market anything to you. It sits in the places it has to sit until it ages out.
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription
This one catches people out, so it is worth saying plainly. Sirat Plus is billed by Apple or by Google, not by us. We cannot cancel it on your behalf and deleting your Sirat account will not stop the billing.
On iPhone or iPad: open the Settings app, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Sirat, then Cancel Subscription.
On Android: open the Google Play Store, tap your profile picture, tap Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, choose Sirat, then Cancel subscription.
Cancel there first, then delete your account here.
If you only want to stop, not disappear
You do not have to delete everything to take a break.
- Turn off reminders. Settings, then Reminders, then switch them off. The app goes quiet and your data stays.
- Set an excused period. Settings, then Streak, then Excused. Your days are held while you are travelling, unwell or otherwise excused, and nothing counts against you.
- Sign out. Your data stays in your account, ready for when you come back.
- Leave a circle. You can step out of any circle without touching the rest of your account.
- Just delete the app. If you never signed in, everything was only ever on your phone, and removing the app removes all of it.
